EMDR Intensives

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured psychotherapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation, often through guided eye movements, sounds, or tactile stimuli, to help the brain reprocess distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact. This therapy is particularly effective for conditions like PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as it helps "unstick" unresolved memories stored in the brain's limbic system. By facilitating natural healing processes, EMDR enables individuals to view past events in a more neutral and manageable way. This new view of past events brings a noticeable change to the current life experience. Learn more about EMDR therapy at emdria.org.

What is EMDR Therapy?

What is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR intensive is a concentrated form of EMDR therapy designed to accelerate healing. Unlike traditional weekly sessions, intensives involve extended therapy sessions lasting several hours, a full day, or consecutive days. This immersive approach allows for deeper exploration of traumatic memories and faster symptom relief by maintaining a consistent therapeutic focus. EMDR intensives are intentionally structured to ensure safety and effectiveness, making them a transformative option for those seeking expedited recovery.

How do I know if an EMDR Intensive is right for me?

To determine if an EMDR intensive is right for you, consider your emotional readiness and ability to engage deeply in concentrated therapy sessions. It's also important to assess your goals, time constraints, financial resources and whether you feel comfortable with the immersive nature of this approach. EMDR sessions are also available in the format of regular weekly, 1 hour sessions, so you cannot make a “wrong decision” when determining if an intensive is right for you. Take advantage of my free 30-minute EMDR Intensive consultation call. I am happy to discuss with you how you hope to benefit from EMDR, and together, we can make a plan for your healing.

It’s like 6 months of therapy in one day, and it works!
